Consonante is a journalism laboratory that combats the informative silence in Colombia. This project was born in 2019 after the team of the Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP) made the first diagnosis of the media ecosystem in Colombia. This investigation, called Cartographies of Information, presented an alarming panorama: in 666 municipalities – more than half of the country’s municipalities – there are no media or teams of journalists that produce local information. In other words, about 10 million people do not have access to truthful and reliable information about what is happening around them.
